"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men

"We Are Fishers of Men"

The We’re For Jesus Outreach Ministry was founded in 1982 by the late founder, Dr. Mary A. Jones with 70 members at the Westside church, 3260 Lenox Ave. Jacksonville, Florida.

The purpose of the Outreach Ministry was to train and equip members to become qualified ministers of the Gospel. Training in witnessing, home Bible study, Evangelism, prayer counseling and hospital/nursing home visitation was incorporated.

The original mission and purpose are the same, to win the lost for Jesus Christ, and to build the kingdom of God. To train qualified candidates in all areas of the five-fold ministry. The Outreach is to provide long term commitment to the Gospel. To reach out to the community and the church. Outreach allows potential ministers to be used in the gifts of the Spirit though interaction with other ministers, in a disciplined environment strictly for training, before public outreach is performed. Ministers are taught how to be accountable to leadership, and stewardship of the body personally, within the church and the community. The Outreach ministry does not proselytize.

Outreach ministers are expected to be knowledgeable of the Word of God and filled with the Holy Spirit to discern the body of Christ.

The Outreach ministry is constantly recruiting new members. Any member in good standing may join. Members must be faithful to church services and auxiliaries. They must believe God has called them to ministry. Age for membership begins at eighteen (18).
